Our pilgrimage was always a dream we talked about during our years together in our SPOKES Bible study, and now it's a reality.  There are moments when I feel like I should not have come.  There is so much to do, and I cannot afford to be gone from home, from work and from life.  Today I was reminded why my earthly pilgrimage requires journeys such as this.  During Father Nick's sermon, he invited us to reflect on both the architecture of Rome, specifically the  bridge that allowed us to pass safely across the Tiber River, and our Faith that will bridge this world to our Eternal Home.  Like many of the religious leaders who came before us, we are called to be bridge builders connecting, not only our earthly lives to the next, but our life's mission to all of the other pilgrims we meet on a daily basis.  So let it be with me, Lord.
